By Rodney D. Robertson

Copyright © 2010.

Men, today I want to give you some knowledge that can give you the edge in your relationship. If you can meet these 5 basic needs of your wife, you will witness an awesome turn around in your marriage and bedroom. If you can submit to her need, she’ll submit to your lead.

#1 Need of the Wife: Affection

Women are emotionally stimulated. They need non-sexual affection. Lovemaking doesn’t just start when you go to bed at night. Lovemaking begins when you open your eyes in the morning showing your wife affection throughout the day.

Nonsexual affection: Speak kind words (verbally, texting, emailing, and greeting cards) soft touches, caressing her, holding her hands, opening the door for her, flowers, etc. Note: Find out what she likes and work it.

#2 Security

Every wife wants security. Two areas specifically are relationally and financially. She wants to know that you are present in the relationship and that you will take care of her and the children (if you have any).

#3 Conversation

We love to think things out internally; however, women love to talk things out. One thing specifically she wants to know during the conversation is that you are listening. Meaning, ask questions and every now and then nod your head and say, “That’s interesting.” (LOL)

#4 Honesty

Honesty means that everything you say must be true, not that everything true must be said. Speak the truth in love.

#5 Commitment

With commitment she wants to know that you are committed to her and the family. You are in it to win and for the long haul. Divorce is not an option.

Building lasting relationships,

5 Basic Needs of a Husband

By Rodney D. Robertson

Ladies, today I want to give you some knowledge that can give you the edge in your relationship. Men do have emotions. We just express them differently from you. Here are 5 basic needs that I want to challenge you to meet in the life of your husband.

#1 Need of the Husband: Sexual Fulfillment

Sexual fulfillment is a real need for your husband. Having sexual relations with you is his way of connecting with you. And when that need isn’t satisfied, it can open the door to sexual temptations presented by the enemy. When a good man is sexually satisfied, he goes to work happy, tension free and he isn’t looking for someone else. Why, because he got what he needs and wants at home.

#2 Respect

Aretha Franklin said it best, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me.” Respect is a big deal for your husband. When a man isn’t respected, he will not stay around. In fact, he will find reasons to work later to avoid the disrespect and mistreatment at home.

#3 Support

Your husband wants and needs your support. One is too small of a number to achieve greatness (John Maxwell). He needs your assistance, help, support, confidence, and encouragement. Be his partner and not his opponent.

#4 Friendship

He desires for you to walk with him through life moving in the same direction. He wants you to share in his passions and interests. Be his friend.

#5 Acceptance without judgment

When your husband decides to be open and honest with you, he wants to know that he will be heard and not judged. He wants to know that what he shares with you in a moment of vulnerability will not be used against him or thrown in his face 6 days or 6 months later.

What is a good relationship? A good relationship is a relationship where both parties' relational needs are met. It is synergistic. It is productive

  Right Relationships

By Rodney D. Robertson

A mistake some people have made in relationships is connecting with the wrong person. An even greater tragedy is calling people friends that are not friends. Why, because many times we call people friends that don’t even have a working definition of what a friend is. Now if they don’t know what a friend is, how can he or she be one to you? When someone has a working knowledge and a clear understanding of what something is, he will have the ability to walk it out or manifest what he has an understanding of.

Being connected to the right person whether in marriage, friendships, or business is vital to your success in life. In fact, I am willing to go as far to say that all good things flow through good relationships. With that being said, the first place you should check in your life when things aren’t going right is your relationships. Why, because a good relationship should add to your life and not subtract from it. A good relationship should bring out the best in you and not the worst.

Is it easy building healthy relationships and connecting with the right people? Absolutely not! I will be the first to admit that it isn’t easy. However, with the help of God and learning from the experiences of connecting with the wrong people, you gain relationship wisdom and a greater appreciation for good relationships that are drama free.

What is a good relationship? A good relationship is a relationship where both parties’ relational needs are met. It is synergistic. It is productive. Though a good relationship requires work, it doesn’t feel like work. It is not a drag or a burden to you. Proverbs 27:17 CEV says, “As iron sharpens iron, so friends sharpen the minds of each other.” I like that verse because it shows how having the right relationship will make you BETTER. A good friend will sharpen your mind and cause you to see things that you didn’t see before. I called those “Aha moments.”

Beginning today, I want you to look at your relationships and determine if they are productive and good for you. Quit wasting time on people that are not challenging you to become better. Don’t be so quick to call someone a friend. Give it some time. He or she may not be staying in your life anyway. Remember, as you grow, so should your relationships.

By: Pastor Ranches L Hall

There are things that happens in each of our lives from time to time that are just to unexplainable, regardless of how much we try to understand, somethings we experience in life are beyond our Human understanding. The effects of these moments or experiences can have a lasting effect on each of our lives.and depending on the out come of our experiences some of us may become bitter rather then better. If there is anything that we must learn in life we must learn to face our storms and challenges in life.Knowing what the Word Of God Proclaims in Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,to them who are the called according to his purpose. What we must always keep in mind is that everything that we experience in life has purpose regardless of how bad things may become or how tragic things may get.it really does not matter what people say or what people think.Something good will always come out of what we see as tragic or a bad experience.we must learn to see our storms and tragic experiences through the eyes of God (Jesus Christ) We must realize that every tragic moment can become a moment of triumph. It was through the Suffering of Jesus Christ That we were Redeemed,It was through the suffering Shade Blood Of Jesus Christ And The Cross Of Calvary that we’ve been Delivered And Set Free From Our Sin.Thank God For that Cross of Calvary,Regardless Of how tragic that event may have seem at that time, it was through that glorious event at calvary that we were Saved,Redeemed and set free by the Precious Blood Of Jesus Christ.I Know someone may read this blog and say here go’s one of those nutty Preachers again,But let me say this, God does allow certain things to happen and God does Causes Certain Things to happen so regardless of how things may seem to be. God is Always in control regardless of what is taking place around us. He’s Always in control even when things are Chaotic. so as Tragic as the Earthquake in Haiti was, God was and is Still in control. every now then I Believe God allows things to happen, so some of us can realize just precious life really is, Sometimes in life we forget about what’s really important in Life. every now and then He Allows us to get Shaking Up a little bit, so we can learn to Appreciate the things that matters the most in Life.Remember as tragic as this moment maybe in Haiti God is Bringing Some good out of this most sad and tragic Experience.Haitis Remember God Is On Your Side From Tragedy To Triumph!

                                          The Consequences of Sin

By Pastor Lawrence Jackson

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bring forth death.
James 1:15 KJV

When the desire of the soul conceives, it gives birth to sin, and sin , when it is fully matured,
brings forth death. The desire of this old nature of ours joins with the outward temptation that faces us and thus becomes sin.
Temptation in itself is not sin. We all have an evil nature. We all have been tempted to do evil; everyone has a weakness in the flesh. One person may be an alcoholic another may be a gossip. Both are of the flesh; both come from within.
“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin” There can never be a stillbirth. When that evil thought in the heart is joined to the outward temptation, there is a birth – a birth of sin.
For the believer this means that when sin is born in your life, when it becomes an action, your fellowship with God is broken. There is a separation. The tragedy today is people think they can get by with sin. Sin will bring forth separation of fellowship with God if you are His child, and He will judge you for it unless you judge yourself.
You cannot have fellowship with and permit sin continually to happen in your life. And when you are tempted to sin, remember sin always carry with a serious. Consider these devastating consequences of sin:
(1) Sin will always take you father than you wanted to go.
(2) Sin will always keep you longer than you wanted to stay and
(3) Sin will always cost you more than you were willing to pay. Now, ask yourself, am I willing to accept these consequences for my choice to sin?

                                                 A Good Black Man

Everyone Reading this either:
1. Is a Godly Black Man
2. Has a Godly Black Man.
3. Knows a Godly Black Man

Godly Black Men are indeed all around us. We pass them on the streets, in the malls and the halls at work. Most we can’t see because we don’t know what a good Black man really looks like.
He usually isn’t flashy enough or rich enough to turn our heads.
He might not wear a suit or push a Lexus. He might not have a “body like Mike Tyson with a Denzel face.” ”Hell Denzel aint cute for real” But, as you mature, you realize it’s better to find someone who’s got your back than someone who turns your head.

A Godly Black Man doesn’t agree wholeheartedly with everything you say. He doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear and do the opposite. He doesn’t declare how sensitive, sweet, caring, sincere, yada, yada he is (he won’t have to because it shows).

He has his own opinions and yours may clash, but he doesn’t have to degrade you to prove he’s right. He even admits at times to being wrong, “especially if you are willing to do the same”.

A Godly Black Man is not going to meet every item on your checklist. He is human with frailties and faults mixed in with all of his wonderful, strong attributes. He needs your love and respect. He needs to feel that you don’t live to “catch” him doing something wrong so you can declare, “Aha! I knew you were a dog!”

A Godly Black Man isn’t insecure about his women having great achievements. In fact he is her number one supporter and becomes disappointed with her when she begins to lose herself, for the sake of “not hurting his feelings, or I just want to make him happy.”His happiness comes with seeing her excel in her dreams and accomplishing her goals. For as she excels and is exalted, a godly woman will bring her godly Black man right along with her.

A Godly Black Man doesn’t necessarily give you a huge birthday or Valentine’s gift. He shows his love in the ways that are comfortable to him. Don’t judge him by TV standards. No one is really living a fairy tale. You’ll miss out on your own fairy tale by buying into the myth that our men are no good. It’s just not true.

Black Men, I salute you, and thank you for who you are and all you’ve done.

Sister’s prayer changes things, so wait on God for that “Godly Black Man“.

Brother’s embrace that strong Woman of God.

Godly Black Men if you know a few women that need to read this …please pass it to them because we as women need to know this…. I didn’t get hear over night, it took God to change me.. In order for me to recognizes what a Godly Black Man is. A Godly Black Man don’t need two or three women; A Godly Black Man recognizes all he needs is one Godly woman that can submit to God and her Man….Amen!

Be Abundantly Blessed!

“Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure.”

                                                     Examine Your Motives

By Pastor Lawrence Jackson

Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility [lowliness of mind] let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

Philippians 2:3 Amplified

Most of us are performance oriented. It is something that we wrestle with in the discharge of our Christian duties. And while it feels good to hear words of praise most of us cannot handle the spotlight with the “lowliness” of Apostle Paul. We must be careful, however, that we don’t do what we do for acceptance and praise from others.

The Apostle Paul had mentioned this before. He said that there were some people who were preaching Christ out of envy and strife. Now he says, “Let nothing be done through strife and vainglory (KJV)”

If we could follow this injunction, I think it would solve a major percent of our problems in churches today. If you are doing something through contentions, strife or selfishness, you should not do it at all. The same is true if you expect to be recognized. One of the reasons I hate going to organizational meetings is that I get tired of people having to thank every sister, brother, preacher and deacon for doing so and so. And you don’t dare leave anyone out because if you do, you will be in trouble.

Do Christians need to be recognized and complimented and commended for things they do for Christ? “Let nothing be done from factional motives…or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance”- trying to make a name for yourself.

If this verse were obeyed, I believe it would solve the problems on most boards and committees. It would eliminate the power struggle that goes on in some churches among church officers.

Examine yourself and make sure your motives are pure. And remember only what you do for Christ will last.

                                                   When Suffering Comes

By Pastor Lawrence Jackson

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.
I Peter 4:12 KJV

When suffering come most of us react as if it were something strange. That is, think it unlike anything that has been suffered before. Others have gone through the same thing you’re going through.
When Paul was chosen as an apostle, the Lord said, “…I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake” (Acts 9:16 KJV).
Suffering is not something which is accidental; It is the normal Christian experience. Peter says, “Don’t think its strange, because this is the normal experience of believers.
David spoke of the fact that God’s testing of him was like putting silver into a furnace to purify it. Peter has now mentioned this fiery trial. He had personally endured suffering, and he was yet to die a martyr’s death. The writer of this poem describes well the experience of a believer.

Out from the mine and the darkness
Out from the damp and the mold,
Out from the fiery furnace,
Cometh each grain of gold.
Crushed into atoms and leveled
Down to the humblest dust
With never a heart to pity,
With never a hand to trust.

Molten and hammered and beaten
Seemeth it ne’er to be done.
Oh, for such fiery trial,
What hath the poor gold done?
Oh, twere a mercy to leave it
Down in the damp and the mold.
If this is the glory of living
Then better to be dross than gold.

Under the press and the roller,
Into the jaws of the mint.
Stamped with the emblem of freedom,
With never a joy, the refining,
Out of this damp and the mold
And stamped with the glorious image
Oh, beautiful coin of Gold.
“In the Crucible”

                                                          Can You Handle It?

By Pastor Lawrence Jackson

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:15 KJV

“I can handle it!” How many persons are playing with a pet sin in their lives believing they can handle things before becoming enslaved to it? The person, who has exhausted all of their life savings at the Casino started out saying, “I know just how far to go.” The alcoholic thought he could handle it; “I know my limit.” The adulterer said, “it was just a mutual companionship.” The substance abuser thought he would never get addicted.
A Texas newspaper carried the account of a seven-month-old infant bitten and crushed to death by an eight-foot long pet python that crawled into her crib. According to Unite Press International the baby was asphyxiated in about five minutes, with the snake squeezing the breath from her lungs.
The python left a series of needle-fine puncture wounds on the child’s face. It had escaped from its glass cage in the living room and slithered into the bedroom where she and her 5-year old sister were asleep.
A short time after the attack the parents found the snake, which they purchased as a family pet curled up on a wooden shelf above the baby’s crib. An angry and hysterical father grabbed the seven-pound python and wrestled it into his bedroom. He stabbed it with a knife, shot it with a .25 caliber pistol, then partially cut off the head with a kitchen knife and threw its pieces back into the room with the dead child.
Just when you think you got your pet sin under control, it will turn out to be the python in your life. “…and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
Can you handle it? ONLY if you say no to SIN.

© He is a gentleman,
© He is confident
© He is a provider and protector
© He is rich and powerful
© He owns everything; there is nothing He wouldn’t do for me
© He perfects all things concerning me
© He anticipates my wants and needs
© Every day He tells me and shows me how much He loves me
© I don’t have to perform in order to earn His love
© He keeps all of his promises
© No one can influence His opinion of me
© He is the ultimate intimate partner
© He can’t ‘disown’ me because I am a part of Him
© He prepares a table before me (Selah)
© He covers me and doesn’t expose me
© He wrote His loving words down so that I’ll never forget how He feels about me!
NOW THAT’S LOVE!!!
Any man, who wants pointers on how to love a woman, should study GOD!
Wake up every day and thank God for being the best ‘man’ in your life!
Each and everyone of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can.
Keep the faith !
The Prayer :
Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit , I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace.
Where there is a need, I ask you to fulfill their needs.
Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings.

In Jesus’ precious name, Amen…
